We are in full swing Halloween mode over here. I’m loving that the little Mr. is just the right age to be curious about Halloween this year and is starting to really get into it.We did this quick and easy little craft the other day that I want to share with you. Toilet Paper Roll Ghosts. The inspiration for this project came from one of Mr. C’s favorite Halloween books, Ghosts in The House. I also made a little Halloween tree to hang them on. C loves them and had a blast making them. I am enjoying the handmade kidmade addition to our Halloween decor.
To make the ghosts you will need:
- toilet paper rolls ( I also used a paper towel roll & cut it in half)
- white paint
- googly eyes
- black marker
Paint the toilet paper rolls with white paint. I painted a couple myself while C was painting. There was no way his little two year old attention span was going to paint all our ghosts by himself. Then, let them dry. While they were drying we read Ghosts in The House and I showed C what we were trying to accomplish with the toilet paper rolls and how the next step was to give our ghosts faces. When they were dry I helped him glue on googly eyes and gave him a black marker to draw on their mouths. 
Tip: If you are slightly mess adversed (like I am ) I’ve found that it helps to use glue dots. I just stick the glue dots to the back of the googly eyes and then give them to C. He can then put them on just like stickers. It’s fabulous! The ghosts look cute displayed by themselves on a shelf and C actually played with them a little bit this way before we hung them. However, if you want to hang them, I just used a hole punch and punched holes in the sides near the top and tied on some cute Halloweeny-looking ribbon. To make the tree, we went for a walk in the back yard and looked for the perfect stick. I spray painted it black and then stuck it in a vase filled with dry black beans to support it. 
So there you have it. We now have “Ghosts in The House” too! And there’s even room to decorate our new Halloween tree a little further.
