My love of the dollar store has been revived as of late. Did you know it’s a wealth of goodies and treasures just waiting to be discovered? Until I started blogging I was paying good money for a lot of these items…far more than I had too. All this sensory play can get expensive! The more I read and the more I asked where people were finding things, I found the dollar store to be the answer. So, I did what any Mom would do… I set out to revisit the dollar store…and I have been back three times in the last week!! Like any other gal who loves to shop, it’s even more fun if I can share my great finds with friends. So friends, here you go!
In my most recent trips I have found…
These great bowls which make fantastic sensory tubs. Can you believe they were just $1.00 each!!
These are the tubs we used for our colored rice bin to practice fractions.
These cute little containers which I’m certain I can find a use for. Maybe add colored rice and hot glue the lids on to make baby shakers similar to what we did here.
These tins which I will likely use at A’s upcoming birthday party in some way.
They might make great bright and colorful little planters too.
POM POMS!! Lots of POM POMS!!
I had no idea you could get pom poms for $1.00 a bag!
Great for sensory bins and various other arts and crafts.
These bright colors caught my eye from way across the store!
Googly eyes… Now what project doesn’t get better with googly eyes!
Storage containers.
Good for organizing and storing all those pom poms in, among other various arts and crafts materials!
Even hair gel for sensory bags!
This list could go on…I found poster board which I used as photography backdrop for some of our recent projects. It also makes a great light reflector when taking pictures of the kiddos. Mini erasers, pool noodles and the list goes on and on. Bottom line is if you have long written off, or just simply ignored the wonders of the dollar store, look again friends. If you are like me you will find inspiration among their shelves :)
