We interrupt your regularly scheduled Sweet Sundays to bring you a “sweet” summer reading program! Sorry folks, this one was too good I couldn’t wait to share it with you!
Do your kids participate in summer reading programs? Ours do, and I am so excited to share with you the latest one we’ve found. It’s called Readathon 2012 brought to you by MeMeTales, partnered with PBSKids. Not only will it help your kids combat the proverbial “Summer Slide” by keeping them reading but you will also be doing some good. For every child that registers for Readathon 2012 MeMeTales is donating a meal to send a hungry child to school via FoodForEducation.org #ReadForGood
This one is so easy and so much fun! You can read more on how to participate here. We’ve already registered on memetales.com and installed the app on Mr. A’s iPod touch. Yes that’s right! This summer reading program is so cool there is an app involved. He has already enjoyed many of the books currently available and he’s looking forward to the many more that will be provided as part of Readathon 2012 throughout the summer.
So please, this is dear to my heart. Myself and a whole host of other fabulously talented bloggers are joining forces to share Readathon 2012 with you. We will feature a book a week for six weeks starting next week, June 18th (when the program starts) and some great activities to go along with them. Don’t miss a minute. Join us and read along! MeMeTales along with PBSKids will make books available for your children to “borrow” via the MeMeTales website and apps. Pop on over to MeMeTales and register your child(ren) and #ReadForGood. The app can be downloaded to your iPad, iPod, iPhone or Android device.
