Alright Mommas, Valentine’s day is (just slightly) less than a month away so I officially deem it time to start throwing out the Valentine’s Day posts. I can only stay away from pink and red hearts for so long. We all know that the kiddos get the majority of the holidays so hubby and I make sure we save one just for us, Valentine’s Day. Last year our “love fest” took a bit of a back burner what with the birth of Little E and all (best Valentine E-V-E-R by the way) but this year hubby and I are back… Now before you go there hang on… It’s simply that we do something nice, sweet, romantic, and thoughtful for each other on each of the 14 days leading up to Valentine’s Day. Something like this message in a bottle…
Think about the possibilities. I’m opting for sappy love note, but what could you fill your bottle with?
- Ticket stubs you’ve saved or other mementos of your relationship.
- “Love” coupons.
- Tickets to his favorite sporting event wrapped up in the message.
- Lyrics to a special song.
Be Creative! You want to make one don’t you? This little love token couldn’t be easier. Just pick up an adorable glass bottle, some filler and ribbon. All easily found at your local craft store I’m sure.
I got the glass bottle and ribbon at Michael’s and the filler (fake rose petals and glitter foam hearts) at the dollar store. Decorate your bottle if you wish and throw in a bit of filler. Roll up a sappy love note, tie it off with ribbon and slip it in the bottle. All that’s left, find a fun way for your guy to find it.
You could easily substitute a plastic bottle and turn this into a cute kids activity too. How do you do Valentine’s Day? Is it more for the grown-ups or the kiddos at your house?
