Halloween Glitter Garland

We are still cranking out the Halloween projects around here. With only a week left until Halloween we are out to make the most of it. It’s one of my favorite themes of the year for projects! In fact I hope to bring you a few more before the 31st rolls around. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything using glitter and in fact, I do believe this was Mr. C’s first experience with it.  The hubs is traveling this week and since it’s not his favorite thing in the world I figured what better time to break out the glitter. (At least I have until Friday to clean up the mess. haha!) Halloween Glitter Garland Header For this project I started out by using cookie cutters to trace some pumpkin and bat shapes onto card stock. Knowing that I wanted this art project to involve glitter, I thought it might be fun to do some Halloween shapes to hang in the window or on our Halloween tree.  I cut the shapes out and set up a little art invitation for Mr. C when he got up from his nap. Turn fun Halloween shapes into festive Glitter Garland I completed one pumpkin and one bat ahead of time so he could see what I was aiming for. This is what I had in mind. Halloween Glitter Garland This is what C had in mind. (I actually like his version better). Halloween Glitter Garland 4 Instead of orange pumpkins and black bats we had black and orange everything. A two year old’s art is the best isn’t it? He worked diligently painting glue on the paper shapes. Halloween Glitter Garland And then covering them with glitter. Halloween Glitter Garland 6 I had to help his aim a couple of times, but he quickly got the hang of shaking that glitter all over the place and soon we had beautiful sparkling Halloween shapes. Halloween Glitter Garland My only regret is that I didn’t cut out more shapes for him. We ran out of shapes before C was ready to be done decorating. They were so pretty! I decided to string them together into garland.  I used a hole punch to punch the holes and strung them on black ribbon. Nothing super fancy but C was so happy to see his glitter shapes turned into this… Halloween Glitter Garland
