Dear C - We just got back from NYC this weekend. Tonight I’m sitting here watching you on the baby monitor and silently cheering you on. If you’d asked me three days ago if we’d be moving you to a big boy bed tonight I wouldn’t have guessed it. Sometimes in parenthood the best plan is no plan. You just go with it and do what’s right when it’s right. This felt right. You are ready. You proved it by bunking like a champ with your big brother in the big hotel bed. So, here I sit, like I said, cheering you on. Listening to you babble, watching you toss and turn and peek out between the slats on the sides of your bed. Hoping and praying that you fall asleep before you become defeated. All the while trying desperately to find the last pictures I took of you in your crib. Hoping that I managed to capture that phase of your life accurately, and realizing that this has become, without planning, and without fanfare, a chapter closing and a new one beginning. I just know how proud of yourself you will be in the morning if you can pull this off. And I know you can pull this off. Tomorrow my love we’ll be shopping for that baseball bedspread you saw (that looks just like your big brothers). I am so proud of you. Love, Momma
