Little E turns one on Saturday. I’m. Not. Ready. Regardless, it ‘s happening. To kick off birthday week we decided on a grand ‘ol cake smash. Here’s how it went down. The cake…
Hubby& I were pretty impressed with ourselves. We somehow manage to produce a fairly decent looking, round, (mostly) level, vibrantly colored little layer cake. Hubby is so encouraged by this effort he’s decided we can undertake the actual birthday cake for Saturday’s party. Uh, yea.. I’ll let you know how that goes.
The Balloons…
E is pretty much scared to death by the balloons. You won’t see them again. The cute props…
He was not impressed. This is the only shot like this where he wasn’t crying. Maybe he’s not ready to turn one either . If I were to sum up his cake smash session in one photo it would be this one…
But really, what’s the fun with just one photo so I will give you a few more…
He shuttered at the taste of frosting and there wasn’t a whole lot of smashing going on.
So after a nap, and an outfit change…
and a pep talk from Dad…
We tried once more. This time we bring in big brother and the balloons (again)…
C calls this the ‘birthday kiss’.
Eventually we end up with something that looks a little more like a cake smash…
Happy Birthday Little E!
