Plain Vanilla Mom

You’ve Got Mail – Valentine Mailboxes

in holidays, Valentine's Day on 21/01/14

I’m always looking to start new traditions with the kids so when I found these little mailboxes at the Target dollar spot I knew just what we were going to do with them.

Decorate them (with some heart stickers from the dollar store) and fill them with love for the whole family.

What will we fill them with? Love notes of course! The boys are as excited about filling these Valentine mailboxes as they are about getting mail. Mom & Dad get mailboxes too!

I’m sure I will put the occasional treat or “kiss” (aka: hershey’s kiss) inside, but for the most part I plan to leave each one a little note focusing on something I love about them from now until Valentine’s Day. My original plan was to start on Feb. 1st and end on Valentine’s Day but the kids had other plans πŸ˜‰ Mr. C couldn’t wait to make his first Valentine. We had to complete that right after he finished decorating his mailbox!

Everyone is so excited to be checking their mailbox each day to see if their little flag is up letting them know they have mail. Do you have any favorite Valentine traditions? If you are looking for other cute Valentine activities make sure you check out our Message in a Bottle.
