When I told you I was obsessed with homemade Christmas ornaments I wasn’t joking around. I’ve got one more DIY ornament for you before the big day. I think this one is my favorite this year! I am head over heels in love with the way our Reindeer Ornaments turned out. The kids thought they were super adorable and even though Mr. C really couldn’t help that much with these, he giggled on the side lines while he watched our reindeer come together.
What you will need:
- clear glass ball ornaments
- sparkly red pom poms
- googly eyes
- sparkly gold pipe cleaners
- brown acrylic paint
- hot glue gun
To make this adorable little fellow start by pouring a generous amount of brown paint inside your clear glass ornament. Then, holding a paper towel over the top of the bulb, swirl twirl and shake your ornament until the inside is completely covered with paint. Leave the top off and set it upside down to dry (I left ours overnight) before putting the top back on.
Once it’s dried a bit, hot glue the eyes and red pom pom to make the face.
Fold the pipe cleaner in half and curl both ends around a pencil or your finger to make the antlers. You are aiming for something that looks like the picture below. Hot glue the antlers onto the back of your ornament. I kind of curved mine around and glued it just below the base of the cap.
That’s it! Your little red nosed reindeer is now ready to hang on your tree 🙂
This little guy is just so darn cute I think I’m going to have to do a happy dance!
If you like making ornaments as much as we do make sure you check out the others we’ve made so far this year. Both our snowflake ornaments and our fine motor filled ornaments were super simple and just as fun.
Adorable!!! Pining to my Xmas board.
Would you like to come and share it at Foodies & Crafties Soirée @www.kiddiefoodies.com – there is one starting today!

I love this!! I have featured it on my Top 10 DIY Ornament Roundup on 11/28
Do you have a suggestion for a kid friendly alternative to the hot glue that would work just as well? Thank you!
I ‘ve had a lot of good luck using glue dots for many projects 🙂 Definitely worth a shot here.
this is easy enough 4 my special ed. kids thanka
