Explaining thankfulness and gratitude to a two year old is an interesting conversation (at least at first). It’s even more interesting when you start in early November. Mr. C has told me, for more than a week now, in answer to the question “what are you thankful for?” ….”Halloween Night”. I found a great book that has been helping a little bit. Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julie Markes. It has quickly become a favorite and it’s beautifully illustrated.
The other way we are working on learning about thankfulness is by way of one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions. Our thankful tree. Big Brother (aka Mr. A) has enjoyed this tradition for awhile now but this is the first year that Mr. C has gotten involved with it. We changed the look and feel of our tree a bit this year but our tradition remains in tact. You can read more about it, and how we made this year’s Thank You Tree over at the Gummylump.com blog today. Click here to read more.
