Plain Vanilla Mom

Photos2Books Review

in Photography, reviews, Uncategorized on 15/08/13

One of my best friends asked me not that long ago what I do with all the pictures I take. Well, a lot of them I use here on the blog, and of course I simply frame a few (ok, more than a few) to hang around the house but I’m always on the look out for fun new cool product to use with my photography.

Disclosure: I received a free album from Photos2Books to review for this post.
I am not being compensated in any other way, and all opinions are 100% my own.

One of the latest things I’ve stumbled across is this Photos2Books app for my iPhone. I immediately fell in love with the idea because not only was it just so darn cute, it was something that I could easily use with my iPhone pictures. I use my iPhone a lot but I don’t always give the pictures the love they deserve.  Rarely do I print them out like I do photos taken with my actual camera. But I should….there are some good pictures sitting there. They deserve their moment in print.

When Photos2Books asked if I would be interested in checking out their app and product, of course I happily accepted! I chose the Mini album because I thought I would want the slightly larger pictures.

The mini album is the size of a more traditional wallet sized photo.  In hindsight I really wish I had chosen the Micro Album because you actually get a few more pictures that way (18 pages vs. 12 pages) and although the pages are even smaller,  I LOVE the fact that it’s on a keychain! How adorable is that? I will more than likely end up making another one of these but this time I’m choosing the micro album. I just love the idea of having that little album clipped to my key chain or diaper bag. The $9.95 price tag on the Micro Album doesn’t hurt either. The mini album that I chose is $15.95.

If there’s a down side to this process, it would be that it took me far too long to decide exactly which of the over 1000 pictures sitting on my iPhone I wanted to use. Hopefully you are just a better decision maker than I am when it comes to such things. The app itself is easy to use and I like how you can have one picture on each page or choose to spread one picture over two pages to give it a little more realestate.

They aren’t kidding when they say in most cases they can ship your album within two days. I was surprised at just how fast mine arrived! My first thought when I saw it was that it would make a really cute gift. What Grandma wouldn’t love this as a brag book for any reason? My second thought was what a great little album for Mr. C. Apparently he thought so too as he quickly snatched the little album off the kitchen table and plopped himself right down on the floor to look through it.  He started flipping pages and naming everyone and everything in the pictures. He loved it. All the more reason to get one on a key chain to affix to the diaper bag. Are your kids as entertained by pictures as mine?

If you like to play (like I do) you can download the free app, select some of your pictures, and see what your book will look like virtually before you actually have to order and pay for it. That was a great feature for me because I change my mind about a bazillion times whenever I do anything like this.

If you would like a little more information on Photos2Books you can read more about them here. Better yet, enter the code “vanilla” at checkout to get $1.00 off the album of your choice.
