Plain Vanilla Mom

Our Weekly Playlist

in baby play, play, toddler play, weekly playlist on 18/03/13

I thought I would try something new for awhile. C and I are doing lots of fun activities but I just don’t have as much time to blog as I used to.  Of course I’m still taking lots of pictures, and I really want to share our playtime with you so I thought I would try and find a way to consolidate things. Enter “Our Weekly Playlist”. Similar to The Way we Play which was really popular and loaded with play ideas for the toddler set. Our Weekly Playlist will be a post, hopefully once a week but at least as time allows, that highlights our favorite activities and creative play ideas for the week. If you are looking for a little change of pace or inspiration for your little one (as I always am) I hope you can find something here.

I’m a couple of weeks behind in sorting through pictures so here’s where we will start. This week we are:

1. Painting with water on construction paper. Mister C really loves this way of “painting” and so do I. In the grand scheme of things its not all that messy.

2. Coloring on big boxes. Got some empty boxes laying around the house? We do! I hauled one out one day with the crayons to see if he would be interested and he loved it! I  love how he was able to get his whole body in on the act. I left this box out all week and he colored on it every day.

3. Beans and dump trucks. I was looking for alternate filler for C’s dump trucks and came up with this.

4. Water beads in the sink. We love water beads but boy are they hard to contain with a toddler! I was having a hard time trying to figure out how and where to let the little guy play with them. I finally decided to try the bathroom sink. It works pretty well because we can shut the door, so even if they end up on the floor (which they inevitably do),  I don’t have to worry about our dog or cat eating them.

That’s what we are playing with this week!  I’d love to hear what you kids are playing with too.  Leave a comment and let me know.

This post is part of our Weekly Playlist Series.  Don’t forget,  you can find us and Follow us on Facebook and Twitter if you aren’t already,  and we are on Pinterest too!
