I haven’t posted in ages and here I am waking up with you on a Saturday morning. Well you can larger thank the hubs for that. See hubby has been away on business going on three days now. (thankfully he comes home tonight). Not only that but Mr A. is closing out the summer with a week-long visit to the grandparents. That leaves me and the babycakes. Now granted I’m busy with the little guy during the day, but he goes to bed fairly early so I’ve had a few free evenings. What is a girl to do with all that extra time? Well if you asked me a couple of weeks ago I ‘d have said sleep. However, thankfully now that I’ve hit pretty much the end of my first trimester I can feel the energy starting to come back a little. I can even stay up until 9:30pm most nights now instead of crashing at 8pm 😀 Woohoo!
That said, I’ve forced myself to pick up the camera a bit more so it seemed only logical to share it with you.
First things first. A little girly time. I cleaned out the makeup drawer and trekked off to Sephora with the little guy for a little ‘back to school’ shopping for Mom. (Now I probably should have been cleaning out the hamper and doing some laundry instead but lets face it, this was way more fun!)
We’ve got a couple of beautiful butterfly bushes that are attracting butterflies left and right this year. I’ve never seen so many. At any given time I can count a minimum of six butterflies out there. Often it’s more. It’s become part of our nightly routine to go out and “visit” the butterflies before we go for a walk. Tonight after the little guy went to bed I went back out with the camera. Notice they are painted ladies? I wonder if they are decedents of the butterflies we raised earlier this year?
There is one thing that I particularly hate when the hubs is gone and that is cooking for myself. Who wants to make all that mess just for themselves? Now if we are talking baking chocolate chip cookies for myself…well that’s another story, but, we are talking dinner here. With another little one in the cooker I decided I should put forth a little more effort than I usually might. I ended up with this….
My absolutely very go-to meal. It’s very easy and I usually have the ingredients on hand. In the summer I’m even fortunate enough to have them right outside in the gardens!
A little fresh basil, a little olive oil, lots of garlic, tomatoes and some parmesan cheese. The only thing missing was a good glass of white wine 🙂 *sigh*
