Plain Vanilla Mom

Nine Months

in babycakes, family, memories, Random Thoughts on 07/06/12

Oh baby boy, I can’t believe it’s been another month! You stood up today!! On nine months to the date I caught you standing in your crib. My have you grown! You are into EVERYTHING. You are crawling everywhere! I didn’t realize how un-babyproof we were. You make me smile Every. Single. Day. You have so much personality now.  You say “dadada” all the time, and “mum mum” when you get really upset. You love to explore and have realized there is a world (or a house) beyond the small little spot that mommy sits you down in. You have ventured down the hall and out your bedroom door all unprompted. You are now into books and love to rock and snuggle and read at night. You are quite independent, or want to be at least. You take the book from my hands every night, hold it up in the air and “read” it, complete with babbling,  before I can finish the story. You are a determined child (determined to pull all the papers off your brother’s bookshelf that is). That perseverance will do you well some day. Your soft blocks are one of your favorite toys.

Your cheeks are growing ever kissable.  I love the way your eyes light up when you see me, or dad, or your bothers and sister. You are enthusiastic and affectionate. If something makes you happy we know it. If you are unhappy you make that quite clear too! You seem to take in and study everything and you give a mean little fist bump when you get overly excited at snack time.  It melts my heart the way you will crawl across a room to get to me or crawl up in my lap when I sit down on the floor with you. Watching you grow and interact with the world more and more each day has been a wonderful gift thus far. Looking forward to the what the next month will bring, but still wishing I could stop time.

Love,  Momma
