I was so excited about this project I couldn’t wait to post about it. I’ve never done anything with canvas before, but like with a lot of other things…I was inspired by what I’ve seen on Pinterest. ‘A’ and I made these as part of our St. Patrick’s Day decorations and (I think) they came out wonderful. We are already thinking up how to translate this project for different holidays! Here’s how we did it…
First, start with Canvas, whatever size(s) you like and tape out your design. We used painters tape in varying widths. First we taped up the whole thing then removed the tape from where we wanted the white space to be.
Next, paint your canvas.
Once it’s dry, remove the tape.
Then decorate as you wish. We used some foam shamrocks I found at the craft store but we had also thought about just tracing shamrocks onto card stock, cutting them out, painting them and using glitter to decorate them and then sticking them on. It’s up to you! We used glue dots to adhere the foam to the canvas.
These look so cool! They would make great mantle decoration. I would love to do something similar to decorate for St. Patrick’s day, or maybe something for Easter…

Thanks Renee. Easter themed canvases would be adorable!
